Council has set the Spring and Fall burning dates. Landowners with parcels of 2 hectares (4.94 acres) or larger may apply online or in person for a permit to burn between November 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025.
- Each property may only receive one burning permit.
- Properties may only burn prunings and non-compostable garden refuse (see list of prohibited materials in 'Conditions of Permit').
- A person engaged in or responsible for permitted burning must ensure the burning is conducted in compliance with the burning regulations, which are outlined in the 'Conditions of Permit'.
Failure to comply with the burn permit restrictions (poor venting, prohibited materials, burn pile size etc.) is an offense and may be subject to fines.
